The Self-Reliance Resource Centre for the Edmonton area is a faith-based service operated by service missionary volunteers to assist newcomers and community members in need in a Christlike manner.
We meet with the people and help direct them to the resources that they are most in need of in a manner that we hope leaves them feeling loved and cared for.
We help direct them to community and government agencies that can best help them with their immediate needs.
Our main focus is to work with the individuals in some basic areas that will help them to succeed in the Edmonton area using resources of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We teach them English, Self Reliance classes, and help find opportunities for education.
Through this we hope to assist in helping them to become happy, self-reliant, and strong members of our communities.
